Prices of building plots and land for sale in the Kas and Kalkan region of Turkey can vary considerably and are mainly dependant on the location, size and view. Land is currently a good investment in this region of Kas & Kalkan Turkey with a steady increase in prices and in some areas such as the Kas Peninsula prices have increased dramatically due to the scarcity of building plots. Prior to committing to purchasing a building plot or land it is imperative to take legal advice and have a search undertaken for the following reasons:
a) to ascertain whether foreigners are allowed to purchase in
   the area where the plot is located, and that the land is
   allocated as resdential building land and not classed as, farm
   land or forestry.
b) whether the land can be used as a building plot and what
    percentage of land can be used for construction, this can
    vary from 5% - 25% of the plot size.
c) that there is a full title deed or Tapu, and particularly in
   the case of village land that everyone who has a legal claim
to ownership signs a notorised agrrement facilitating the sale.
d) in the case of certain village land you may well
    need to set up a Turkish limited company in order to legally buy
    the land. This is a straight forward proceedure and has many
    advantages especially when buying real-estate in Turkey.
e) for example, that there are no oustanding debts or charges on the land.
f) The maximum quantity of land that can be owned by an
   individual foreigner is 2.5 hectares (25,000m2). There is
   currently a cap in place by the Turkish Government restricting
   the total ownership of land by all foreign nationals to 0.5%
